About Old Hickory Lake

More than 22,000 acres of water, recreation, and Tennessee history.

Old Hickory Lake is a reservoir formed by Old Hickory Lock and Dam on the Cumberland River at mile 216.2, approximately 25 miles upstream from Nashville. The lake spans approximately 22,500 acres and 97.3 river miles across Davidson, Sumner, Wilson, Trousdale, and Smith counties. Public facilities include 41 boat access sites, two Corps-operated campgrounds, and four marinas. Old Hickory is popular for fishing, boating, jet skiing, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming.

The Rubright family

We live, work, and play in the same places as our customers.

Rubright Marinas was formed in 2017 when Nate and Jim Rubright acquired Gallatin Marina in Gallatin, Tennessee. Ben Rubright joined Rubright Marinas as an owner when the family purchased Peninsula Marina.

The Rubrights later acquired Barren River State Dock and Marina and The Boathouse at Benders Ferry. Their highest priority is customer satisfaction, with a focus on safe, fun, family-friendly environments across every marina.
